Neurosurgery is a series I shot for the Neurosurgery Department of Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. The idea was to show the feeling in the surgical theatre, with its tight and detailed work. After shooting numerous surgeries, I began to notice similarities. Classical music fills the operating room. The big American flag hangs on the wall behind the operating table. The patient, fully draped, anesthetized and positioned for the surgeon’s convenience. It is a good reminder not to get sick, hurt or old.
